Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 4x12-hour shifts) | 36 or 48 hours per week option | 13 or 26-week contract option
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry units, including potential assignment to units with a focus on Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Trauma, Cardiac, Transplant, or Progressive Care
- Administer and manage IV drips — drip competency is required on all floors
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Float frequently within scope to meet facility staffing needs, including potential assignment to a sister campus approximately 16 minutes from the main campus
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, and swoop/paramedics
- Meet weekend requirements: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Friday night and Saturday night for night shift)
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska — if license is not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out
- BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with experience in a large, urban hospital required
- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center may be considered in lieu of standard traveler experience requirements
- Proficiency with EPIC charting is required
- Must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — locals are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level I Academic Medical Center or large teaching hospital environment
- Background in specialty areas such as Neuro, Oncology, Trauma, Cardiac, or Solid Organ Transplant
- ACLS certification
- Familiarity with high-acuity, complex patient populations
