    Contract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 Hours/Week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Cardiac Renal Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a post-cardiac procedure population including heart cath, ablation, pacemaker, A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, renal biopsy, and behavioral health/detox patients
    • Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation; travelers will be required to pass telemetry competency tests
    • Recover heart cath patients using femoral and TR band techniques; manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, and CBI
    • Administer and manage cardiac and other IV drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, Protonix); apply CIWA/detox protocols and provide central line care
    • Float within skillset as needed, including to a sister campus approximately 8 miles away and potentially a cross-state campus approximately 11 miles away, with at least 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus floats
    • May be required to precept students and new hires in this teaching facility setting
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active multistate (compact) RN license
    • AHA BLS certification required
    • AHA ACLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum of two years of strong cardiac/telemetry nursing experience
    • At least one prior travel nursing assignment
    • Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
    • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with PIV insertion and strong IV access skills
    • Demonstrated proficiency in drip management, critical thinking, and patient assessment in a high-acuity environment
    • Experience working in a teaching hospital environment, including precepting students or new staff
    • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic unit with float and scheduling flexibility expectations
