Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with an average daily census of approximately 25 patients
- Rotate weekend shifts as scheduled, with an expected minimum of 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Participate in holiday coverage, with an expectation to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
- Utilize Epic electronic health records system for documentation and patient management
- If assigned to an Emergency Team by unit management, report as directed during emergency events and remain available through the duration of the event or as part of a relief team; specific pay details will be communicated per event
Required Qualifications
- Active Compact or Louisiana RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty experience required per facility compliance standards
- BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and CPI certifications required — all must be AHA-issued
- Epic EMR experience required
- NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and must be current (within 4 weeks of submission date)
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (based on address on driver's license) to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors at this health system must have been separated for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
- Royal Blue scrubs required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with self-scheduling in a hospital unit environment
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and high-census acute care settings
- Prior travel nursing experience in a similar Med-Surg / Tele setting
