Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract (13 or 26 weeks available) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, including patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis needs, atrial fibrillation, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery
- Manage and monitor telemetry and step-down level patients transitioned from ICU (no ventilator or vasopressor support required)
- Administer and monitor drip medications including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
- Complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials prior to contract start
- Float to other like units as needed based on census demands, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
- Provide weekend coverage on a rotating basis, approximately every other weekend, subject to change based on unit need
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with step-down or progressive care unit patients
- Familiarity with cardiac drip management and telemetry monitoring
- First-time travelers will be considered based on relevant clinical experience
