Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a high-acuity Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a focus on patient experience
- Manage and monitor patients presenting with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
- Perform and support specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
- Administer and reconcile medications using the Omnicell medication system
- Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC EMR system
- Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census and demonstrated competencies
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted facility to be eligible (night shift, Adult Medical Tele specialty); candidates between 50–99.9 miles may be considered under adjusted terms; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for stroke and TIA patient populations in an inpatient setting
- Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
- Strong background in high-acuity medical-surgical environments with patient experience focus
