Contract | Days | Onsite | Rotating shifts available: 0700–1930, 1100–2330, 2300–0700 | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 15-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving post-surgical and acute medical patients with short anticipated lengths of stay
- Manage a patient population including Orthopedic, Urology, GYN/ONC, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT, Plastics, and GI post-surgical cases
- Titrate drips including Heparin and occasionally Nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and Insulin
- Monitor telemetry in coordination with remote GE telemetry technicians; RNs are not required to read their own strips
- Float to other adult medical/surgical nursing units as needed
- Adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (days) and 1:5–6 (nights); work alongside Nursing Assistants and a Charge Nurse who takes an assignment on all shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 1–2 years of acute care nursing experience
- Ability to titrate IV drips including Heparin
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission date
- Must be able to clock in and out on-site at the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with post-surgical patient populations across multiple specialties
- Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow Oxygen Therapy (no ventilator management required)
- Comfort working in a block-scheduled environment without self-scheduling
