Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Colorado Springs, CO (Regional Float Zone – includes facilities within a 60-mile radius)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite | Regional Float Pool

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care across Medical Surgical and Telemetry units, with potential float assignments to PCU/Stepdown, ED Observation, and low-acuity ICU holds based on skillset
  • Care for an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, and general medicine conditions
  • Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients requiring RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
  • Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:5–6 based on acuity, with nurse aide support available on units
  • Float throughout the designated regional zone (up to 60-mile radius) as assigned, with facility placement communicated 1–2 hours before shift start on Just-In-Time (JIT) scheduling days
  • Adhere to weekend requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Must reside or obtain housing within a feasible distance to float throughout the full 60-mile regional zone
  • Must be available and present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
  • Must live more than 60 miles from each facility within the float zone (no home base facility permitted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in neurological nursing
  • Comfort and flexibility working across multiple unit types including cardiac, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, ortho, and trauma
  • Experience in a float pool or multi-facility travel nursing environment
