Provide care for patients requiring external CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy management, and chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac). Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, managing patient diagnoses including osteoarthritis and fractures
Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as mandatory competencies required for all RNs on unit
Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips (no titration) and administer blood products
Manage IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, PCA, feeding tube care, peripheral line care, and wound care/wound vac

Float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility staffing needs
Required Qualifications
Active, unencumbered New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of RN experience (first-time travelers accepted)
Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
Ability to perform phlebotomy and IV placement independently
Every-other-weekend availability required
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement patient populations
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation in a high-acuity setting
Experience with chest tube management and advanced respiratory support modalities
