Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage care for an adult to geriatric patient population across a 63-bed unit
- Float within specialty and to lower-acuity areas as needed — travelers are first to float
- Work every other weekend and holidays as they fall per schedule
- Adhere to unit scrub color requirements (Navy)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact License required at time of submission
- BLS certification (AHA only) required
- ACLS certification (AHA only) required
- CPI certification required — the Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address); locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless otherwise specified
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Comfort with floating within scope and across acuity levels with no restrictions
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations in a telemetry or medical surgical setting
