    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

    Location

    Garden City, KS (Float Zone covering up to 60-mile radius)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Full-Time Hours

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care across a Medical Surgical and Telemetry float pool, covering units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
    • Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, neurological disorders, post-surgical recovery, oncology, urology, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
    • Titrate Heparin drips and manage IV therapy in accordance with facility protocols
    • Operate within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 based on acuity, collaborating with nurse aides and designated charge nurses
    • Float to assigned facilities within the zone up to 60 miles from the zone's city center, with facility assignments communicated via schedule or Just-In-Time (1–2 hours before shift start)
    • Adhere to weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN licensure in the state of Kansas (or compact license eligibility)
    • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience within the last 3 years
    • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
    • Ability and willingness to float throughout the full 60-mile zone radius for the duration of the contract
    • Flexibility to accept Just-In-Time facility assignments with 1–2 hours notice prior to shift start
    • Must be available and present in state for the full week of orientation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting
    • Familiarity with Alaris IV pump systems and EPIC electronic health records
    • Experience floating across varying acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and ICU observation holds
