    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Cardiac Renal Unit)

    Location

    Evansville, IN | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity 41-bed Cardiac/Telemetry Medical-Surgical unit managing conditions including AFib with RVR, flutter, heart blocks, CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post-ablation, and dialysis patients
    • Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation; travelers are expected to pass telemetry competency testing
    • Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
    • Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
    • Float within skillset to a secondary campus with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
    • May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active compact RN license required
    • AHA BLS certification required
    • AHA ACLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment; Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
    • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity cardiac patients
    • Experience with antidysrhythmic medication management and drip titration protocols
    • Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working in a dynamic, change-driven environment
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively within an experienced, established team
