    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

    Contract | 13 or 20 Weeks | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Three weekends per six-week schedule; every other holiday

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity 41-bed Cardiac/Renal Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including AFib with RVR, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation, dialysis, and BH/CIWA protocols
    • Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation, including identification of arrhythmias, heart blocks, and flutter
    • Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
    • Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
    • Document accurately using the EPIC electronic health record system
    • Float within skillset to other campus locations as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float assignments; may precept students and new hires as required
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active compact RN license
    • AHA BLS certification
    • AHA ACLS certification
    • NIHSS certification
    • Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry RN experience
    • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment and Trauma Level II experience
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Recent hands-on experience with EPIC electronic health record system
    • Demonstrated ability to pass telemetry competency testing
    • Strong critical thinking, assessment skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
