Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, delivering safe and effective nursing interventions
• Utilize EPIC EMR for all clinical documentation and patient records management
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Float to other units or facilities as needed based on census demands; floating is required for all agency staff and will only occur in areas where competencies have been demonstrated and documented
• Provide weekend coverage on a rotating basis, approximately every other weekend, with potential variation based on unit needs
• Complete required pre-assignment modules and annual compliance requirements within designated timeframes prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with EPIC EMR
• Must reside more than 100 miles from all system facilities to be eligible at standard terms; candidates residing 90–99.9 miles away may be considered under modified terms; candidates residing under 90 miles are not eligible (exceptions apply for certain specialties and shift types — see notes)
• Pre-assignment testing and online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; up to 16 hours of module completion time may be reimbursable

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, or Progressive Care settings
• Background in ER Holding or similar fast-paced acute care environments
• First-time travelers with strong, relevant unit experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
