Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for a variety of medical surgical patients across a 15-bed unit with a 4–5:1 patient ratio
- Administer and monitor heparin drips and other ordered medications safely and accurately
- Utilize remote telemetry monitoring in collaboration with the tele tech unit
- Float across multiple campuses as needed to support patient care operations
- Serve in charge or preceptor roles as assigned, supporting team development and unit growth
- Comply with holiday scheduling requirements, which may include working 1–2 of upcoming designated holidays
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of experience in Med Surg or Medical Surgical Telemetry
- Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the previous 18 months — first-time travelers are not eligible
- Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license at time of submission
- BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
- Experience with heparin administration required
- Recent charge or preceptor experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by driver's license)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring background highly preferred
- 24 months of current, documented Med Surg or Med Surg Tele experience reflected on work history and resume
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
