Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
Manage a diverse patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, DVT, and PE
Assist with and monitor special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care (radial and femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT angiography, and Heparin drips
Support integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility programs for post-surgical patients
Accurately document patient care and assessments using EPIC EMR
Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas within documented competencies
Required Qualifications
Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate compact license (pending licenses not accepted)
Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in an orthopedic or Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting
Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Must meet applicable distance requirements from facility to be eligible for travel assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with orthopedic spine surgical patient populations including pre- and post-operative care
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient management
Experience with Heparin drip management and post-procedural care protocols
