    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Neuro & Stroke)

    Location

    Chesapeake, VA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Neuro & Stroke unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:7
    • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic electronic health records

    • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions appropriate for neurological and stroke patients
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
    • Participate in required holiday coverage, floating assignments, and weekend rotations as scheduled
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
    • Previous travel nursing experience required
    • Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission – no exceptions
    • Epic EMR proficiency required – no exceptions
    • Previous experience caring for Neurology and/or Stroke patients required
    • Valid BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) and NIHSS certification required

    • Demonstrated proficiency in EKG interpretation, including rhythm identification, interval measurements, and complex arrhythmia recognition
    • Comfort and experience working in high-acuity medical surgical telemetry environments
