Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Neuro & Stroke unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:7
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic electronic health records
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions appropriate for neurological and stroke patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Participate in required holiday coverage, floating assignments, and weekend rotations as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission – no exceptions
- Epic EMR proficiency required – no exceptions
- Previous experience caring for Neurology and/or Stroke patients required
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) and NIHSS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in EKG interpretation, including rhythm identification, interval measurements, and complex arrhythmia recognition
- Comfort and experience working in high-acuity medical surgical telemetry environments
