Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed telemetry unit with a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio on nights (primary patient care without nurse aide support)
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms using GE Cardiac Monitors, interpret telemetry strips, and identify rhythm changes independently (remote monitor techs are available but RN interpretation is required)
- Manage IV drips including Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem; no titration required
- Administer all breathing treatments; unit supports up to 6L O2, CPAP for non-obstructive sleep apnea only — no High Flow or BiPAP on unit
- Perform groin management and provide care for patients with renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health diagnoses
- Participate in self-scheduling, standby shifts, weekend rotations (3 shifts per schedule period), and holiday rotations as required of all staff
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Arizona
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- EKG certification required
- Must demonstrate EKG competency and cardiac monitoring experience
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (maximum 2 attempts); must pass a simulation lab assessment on Day 1 of orientation
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid Driver's License must be provided at time of submittal
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior telemetry or medical-surgical nursing experience
- Experience with groin management and cardiac monitoring in an acute care setting
- Familiarity with patient populations including renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health
