    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float Pool

    Location

    Bridgeport, WV | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care as a float pool RN across MedSurg and Telemetry units, with primary assignment to high-census units; may float to additional units including Critical Care based on need
    • Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, cardiac catheterization, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, orthopedic conditions, and oncology (travel RNs will not administer chemotherapy)
    • Monitor, read, and interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently; must pass a facility cardiac rhythm exam prior to assignment
    • Manage patient loads of typically 1:5–6; occasional higher acuity adjustments may apply based on patient census and acuity
    • Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, monitor techs, and respiratory therapy; manage CPAP and BiPAP patients in coordination with RT
    • Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling (Saturday/Sunday) and rotate through the holiday schedule alongside permanent staff
    Required Qualifications
    • Active and unencumbered RN license valid in West Virginia
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Must successfully pass a facility cardiac rhythm exam prior to starting assignment
    • Ability to read and independently interpret telemetry strips
    • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a copy of an unexpired driver's license is required with all submissions
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a MedSurg/Telemetry or float pool setting
    • Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
    • Experience caring for cardiac, oncology, or orthopedic patient populations
