Contract | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Float across multiple acute care units including medical surgical, orthopedics, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardiothoracic — adapting quickly to varying unit needs and patient populations
- Provide direct patient care at an average ratio of 5:1
- Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; must pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (two attempts allowed)
- Administer and manage IVs utilizing Meditech
- Participate in most Friday shifts as operationally required; extended time-off requests are not available, and no more than 5 days of RTO may be requested
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact eligibility)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 4 years of recent acute care experience; some stepdown experience required for night shift
- Must have at least one recent, successfully completed travel contract
- Proficiency with Meditech; ability to independently read telemetry strips
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be considered at a local rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Psychiatric nursing experience highly preferred
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
- 5 or more years of float pool experience
