Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Float across multiple acute care units including med-surg (orthopedics, urology, neurology, GYN), cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardio-thoracic
- Deliver direct patient care with an average patient ratio of 5:1
- Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; must pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (two attempts permitted)
- Administer and manage IV medications utilizing Meditech
- Adapt quickly to varying unit environments, patient populations, and workflows
- Availability most Fridays is expected; extended time-off requests are not accommodated
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Massachusetts
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of recent acute care experience; some stepdown experience required for night shift placement
- At least one recent, successfully completed travel contract
- Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be considered at a local rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Psychiatric (psych) nursing experience highly preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
- 5 or more years of float pool experience
- Prior stepdown or cardiology/telemetry unit experience
