Contract | Full-Time | Days, 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | 36 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Float across multiple acute care units including med-surg, ortho, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardio-thoracic
- Provide direct patient care with an average patient ratio of 5:1
- Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; must pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (two attempts allowed)
- Administer and manage IV therapy in accordance with unit protocols
- Adapt quickly to varying unit environments, patient populations, and workflows
- Most Fridays will be required; no extended time-off requests or specific schedule requests will be accommodated
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact license eligibility)
- Minimum 4+ years of recent acute care experience
- At least 1 recent, successfully completed travel nursing contract
- Experience with Meditech electronic health record system
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be placed at a local rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5+ years of previous float pool experience
- Psychiatric nursing experience highly preferred
- Step-down unit experience preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system strongly preferred
