Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and continuously monitor condition trends throughout the hospital stay
Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications including IV therapies, and manage wound care and specialized equipment
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
Educate patients and families on post-surgical care, medication schedules, and post-discharge instructions
Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and take swift action to stabilize patients before emergencies escalate
Participate in a float pool, providing nursing coverage across applicable units as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Proficiency or ability to work within Cerner EMR
Willingness to participate in a float pool assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a large acute care hospital environment
Familiarity with cardiovascular or neuroscience patient populations
