Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and continuously monitor condition trends throughout the hospital stay
- Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications including IV therapies, and manage wound care and specialized equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on post-surgical care, medication schedules, and post-discharge instructions
- Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and take swift action to stabilize patients before emergencies escalate
- Participate in a float pool, providing nursing coverage across applicable units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proficiency or ability to work within Cerner EMR
- Willingness to participate in a float pool assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a large acute care hospital environment
- Familiarity with cardiovascular or neuroscience patient populations
