Key Responsibilities
Float to any adult Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, ED Holding, or Intermediate Care (IMC) unit based on operational needs each shift
Call in before each shift for unit assignment, report directly to the assigned unit, and participate in unit safety huddles and standard workflows
Provide direct patient care for adult patients across a broad range of diagnoses including general medical-surgical, telemetry, neurology, stroke, orthopedics/trauma, elective joint and spine procedures, skeletal traction, and external fixation
Adapt quickly to multiple clinical environments and diverse patient populations while maintaining quality care standards
Manage a patient assignment of approximately 4–6 patients based on unit acuity
Participate in mid-shift reassignments as required by operational needs
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry setting
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Proficiency with Epic EMR
NIHSS certification required upon hire (preferred at time of application)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for diverse adult patient populations across multiple clinical environments
Prior float pool experience or demonstrated ability to adapt to varied unit assignments
Experience with neurology, stroke, orthopedics, or trauma patient populations
