Description:
This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg and Telemetry.
The nurse will care for a variety of patient types requiring Med Surg care, including overflow of post-operative surgical hips and knees, as well as psych patients.
Patient ratios will be 4-5:1.
The unit consists of 24 beds.
The nurse will be required to float across different campuses.
The nurse is expected to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
Candidates should be comfortable extending beyond the initial 13-week contract if needed.
Blocked shifts are not allowed for this position.
Prior charge experience is required, and precepting experience is preferred.
The nurse must possess a valid and active Iowa license or a compact/multistate license at the time of application.
The nurse will be required to wear navy blue scrubs in solid colors.
All selected candidates will undergo a reference check from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months of the application date.
Experience caring for psych patients is preferred as overflow psych patients may be present in the unit.
