Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Recent experience in a Level 1 trauma facility - Experience with EPIC charting in the last 2 years - Ability to manage drips - Experience in a large, urban hospital setting Description: This position involves providing care to trauma patients with a focus on their acute and chronic needs. The unit specializes in caring for patients admitted from the emergency department or transferred from the ICU. It is a fast-paced environment requiring the registered nurse to adapt quickly to changing patient needs. Ratios are generally 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with occasional increases to 1:7 on rare occasions. RNs are expected to float when necessary to meet the staffing needs. Weekend shifts are required, with four weekend shifts within an eight-week period. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays. Candidates should be prepared for a nicotine-free work environment. Travel experience is required, and first-time travelers will not be accepted. The position requires the management of various drips, including Heparin and Insulin. Personal protective equipment and isolation precautions are mandatory. Experience in telemetry and cardiac drip management is also necessary. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
