The focus is on the acute and chronic needs of medically stable patients. This is a fast-paced specialty unit. Ratios are typically 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with night ratios occasionally reaching 1:7. RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Floating may include various other units within the facility. Candidates must have experience managing drips on all floors. Charting will be done through the EPIC system. Previous experience in a Level I trauma facility is required. This is a nicotine-free facility. Weekend shifts are required, with a commitment of 4 weekend shifts out of 8 in a 4-week period. Travelers are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Up to two weeks of requested time off is permitted, to be submitted with the application. First-time travelers will not be accepted. Candidates must have less than 1 year between permanent and travel positions to qualify.
