Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience in a large, urban hospital required. License: Active Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - 2 years of prior telemetry experience required - Epic charting experience required - Float capability within scope to meet facility needs Description: The unit focuses on designing, testing, and validating new models of care and innovative technology. It consists of patient rooms divided into zones to test various room designs, equipment, or processes. The primary patient population includes adult medical-surgical patients. Future plans include an adaptable care model encompassing both medical-surgical and progressive care levels. This unit does not care for labor and delivery or pediatric patients. The nursing practice follows a primary nursing care model where one RN is assigned to a group of patients. The nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night. Travelers are expected to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Current projects include virtual nursing, virtual sitters, ambient monitoring, and interactive patient experience platforms. The focus is on improved facility design variations, including modular interior walls, ceiling lifts, and specialized family zones. The unit supports a variety of patient diagnoses, including those requiring continuous ECG monitoring and pre- and post-operative care. Interdisciplinary support includes services such as IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Candidates must submit any time off requests upfront with their application. Travelers are required to work two out of three major holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. This facility is a tobacco-free environment. Travelers must be more than 100 miles from the facility as locals will not be accepted. Pending licenses are accepted; however, provisional arrangements must be confirmed. Scrubs in specific colors with designated logos are mandatory.
