Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – New York

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend required

- High-volume 528-bed tertiary care hospital providing advanced medical and surgical care
- Care for diverse patient populations including CHF, acute MI, post-device care (pacemakers), arrhythmias, general surgery, colorectal procedures, ostomy care, and reconstruction patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 on a combined 77-bed unit (26-bed cardiac telemetry and 51-bed medical-surgical)
- EPIC electronic medical record system utilized throughout the facility
- Floating to other units is required as part of assignment
- First-time travelers welcome; contract length approximately 13 weeks
Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse license (must be in hand prior to submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
- Valid NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC charting system (required)
- Experience with blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care/wound VAC, and non-invasive airway management
- Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 in a high-acuity environment
- Must reside more than 75 miles from facility location
