Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – New York

Schedule: Day/Evening shift ratios are 5:1 (stretch to 6-7 patients); Night shift ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10 patients). Every other weekend required. Patient Care Technicians provide vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living support. Orientation includes 5 hours of onsite training plus pre-start modules.

- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and more
- Epic charting system experience required
- Float within scope to similar units as needed to support facility operations
- Manageable time-off restrictions: maximum 1 week RTO permitted per contract period
- Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs
Requirements:- Active New York RN license (must be in hand at time of application)
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion/placement
- Epic charting system experience (required)
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood product administration, feeding tube care, peripheral line management, PCA pumps, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management, and wound care/wound vac
- Experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and managing cardiac drips (no titration)
- Must reside beyond 75-mile radius from facility
- First-time travelers accepted
