Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,942 per week in Rochester, NY

RNs will care for adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses, including acute kidney injury, sepsis, COVID-19, alcohol withdrawal, altered mental status, and a variety of infections. The unit has Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) who assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.

Description: Registered Nurses (RNs) are responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the MS/Tele specialty. RNs are expected to manage a patient ratio of 6-7 to 1 during night shifts, which may stretch to 8-10 if staffing issues arise. The unit has Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) who assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. RNs will need to float between like units as necessary to meet facility needs, while staying within their scope of practice. Working hours are scheduled in block shifts. The unit is equipped with specialized equipment including SCD pumps, Bear Hugger, wound vac, and tube feeding pumps. Charting is done using Epic. RNs must demonstrate proficiency in all required skills and competencies to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. Travelers should keep requests for time off to one week to ensure scheduling needs are met. All travelers are required to float as necessary, and those accepted must be able to meet all listed qualifications.
