Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
- BLS required
- Active RN license for the assignment state or applicable compact license
- Must pass EKG exam at orientation
- Dysrhythmia interpretation required
- Epic and CAPD experience preferred
- No locals—must reside outside the 50-mile radius
Schedule
- 12-hour days
- Every other weekend and major holiday required
- Weekend-only block scheduling may be accommodated
- ITO interview process
Unit Highlights
- 30-bed mixed surgical unit, expandable to 37 beds
- Typical ratios: 1:5–1:6, subject to facility needs and not guaranteed
- General surgery, trauma, minor orthopedic, postoperative and post-trauma patients
- Average length of stay: approximately 4 days
- Required floating to other Med-Surg units
Equipment & Support
- Alaris pumps, Hercules beds and Kangaroo feeding pumps
- BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomies, chest tubes and tube feedings
- Monitor techs, phlebotomy, 1–2 CNAs per shift, sitters, charge nurses and rapid response team
