Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: RN2 - Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: Experience in medical cardiac care and drip management Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in telemetry nursing. The unit offers a comprehensive overview of operations and clinical information relevant to nursing professionals. The unit has 32 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 during the day shift and 1:6 during the night shift. A charge nurse is present on every shift and takes an assignment. Patient care technicians assist nurses with taking vitals, bathing, blood glucose monitoring, phlebotomy, and activities of daily living. Both self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available for staff. Nurses are required to work every other weekend or less, with holiday shifts assigned on a rotating basis. On-call duty is required only as a last resort for travelers. Floating to other units may be required when needed. Nurses must hold certifications in BLS and ACLS. Experience managing medical cardiac conditions is essential, particularly congestive heart failure. Registered Nurses will need to titrate drips, using common medications such as Amiodarone and Heparin. High Flow oxygen and BiPAP may be used for respiratory therapy for short periods of time, but RNs are not responsible for extensive management. Telemetry monitoring is conducted through virtual systems, with RNs reading their own ECG strips. Staff is required to wear navy blue scrubs.
