Medical/Surgical Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical/Surgical Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires the ability to provide high-quality care to patients while potentially floating to various units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients on the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, ECG rhythms, and overall health status.
• Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist in patient education and support for both patients and their families.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to comprehensive patient care.
• Float to other units, including Hematology/Oncology, as required to meet patient needs.

Shift Information

This position will involve rotating shifts, including nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM). While efforts will be made to honor preferred shifts, flexibility may be required based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 months of permanent experience in the applicable specialty.
• A current Ohio nursing license or a compact state license is mandatory.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• NIHSS certification is required.

Additional Requirements

• Travelers are expected to work at least every other holiday.
• Completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation is required, with acceptable scores on both.
