Travel Nursing Job Details

Travel RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent acute-care Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent education
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Recent Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience
• Strong ability to independently read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips and dysrhythmias; dedicated telemetry technicians are not available
• Successful completion of required dysrhythmia and medication assessments before acceptance, with a minimum passing score of 85%
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
• Continuously monitor and independently interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and patient-specific plans of care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Float between appropriate units as assigned while maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical quality
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
