Travel Nursing Job Details

- Assignment Environment: Medical-surgical float pool supporting approximately 15 inpatient units
- Call: No call required
- Scrubs: Any color
- Orientation: Weekly orientation, generally on Mondays
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
- At least 3 years of recent, related Registered Nurse experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Level I trauma experience required
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty-area expertise preferred
- Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based applications
- Flexibility to float between inpatient units and adapt to assignments that may be provided close to the start of a shift
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple inpatient units
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Perform 12-lead EKGs and provide telemetry-focused patient assessment and intervention
- Administer medications and therapies, including Lasix infusions and nebulizer treatments
- Perform and monitor blood transfusions according to established standards
- Care for patients with neurological, cardiac, bariatric, general medical, surgical, gynecological, genitourinary, orthopedic, oncology, transplant, and vascular conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team; respiratory therapists manage ventilators while RNs administer nebulizer treatments as appropriate
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation in Epic and communicate effectively during patient handoffs
- Adapt quickly to changing unit assignments while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care
