Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool Contract in Boston, MA

Join a leading Boston healthcare team as a Travel Registered Nurse supporting a diverse inpatient medical-surgical and telemetry float pool. This 8-week nursing contract offers experienced RNs the opportunity to care for patients across multiple specialty units in Boston, Massachusetts.

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts 02215
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient medical-surgical and telemetry float pool
• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Start Date: February 1, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week; 72 guaranteed hours every two weeks, excluding call
• Shift Duration: Rotating 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Rotating days, evenings, and nights; every other weekend and holidays required
• Call: No call required
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Uniform: Any color scrubs
• Parking and Transit: Public transportation is available; parking costs may be up to $43 per day for daytime shifts

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts required at submission
• At least 3 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Experience in a teaching hospital preferred
• Strong specialty-area expertise and the ability to adapt quickly to changing inpatient unit assignments
• Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based applications
• Ability to work rotating shifts, every other weekend, and holidays

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients across a 15-unit float pool
• Adapt quickly to assignments involving neurology, cardiac care, bariatric services, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, transplant, and vascular care
• Monitor telemetry patients and recognize and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm and clinical condition
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, administer nebulizer treatments, manage Lasix infusions, and provide blood transfusions according to established protocols
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy on ventilator management while administering appropriate respiratory treatments
• Use the Epic electronic health record to document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care while maintaining appropriate patient ratios and unit-specific standards
• Support interdisciplinary communication and promote continuity of care during frequent unit transitions
