Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Boston Travel Nursing Contract

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Location: On-site in Boston, Massachusetts
• Contract Duration: 8 weeks
• Start Date: February 1, 2027
• End Date: March 27, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Rotating days, evenings, and nights; every other weekend and holidays required
• Call: No call required
• Float Pool: Assignments across approximately 15 medical-surgical units, including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedics, oncology, transplant, and vascular services
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights, depending on unit assignment
• Orientation: Weekly on Mondays, except when a holiday affects the schedule

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of related medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Level I trauma hospital experience required
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Teaching hospital experience and specialty-area expertise preferred
• Basic computer proficiency and the ability to navigate web-based applications
• Adaptability and willingness to float between units based on patient-care needs

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple inpatient units
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKGs
• Administer medications and specialized therapies, including Lasix infusions and nebulizer treatments
• Safely administer blood products and monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to escalate concerns promptly
• Deliver care for patients with cardiac, neurologic, oncologic, transplant, orthopedic, surgical, and complex medical conditions
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively during handoffs
• Adjust quickly to unit assignments, patient populations, and changing staffing needs within the float pool
• Support a collaborative, patient-centered environment while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
