Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Job Details

- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly, excluding on-call hours
- Floating: May be required to support a nearby affiliated hospital as needed
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and float as needed
- Successful completion of required onboarding and competency assessments
Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments and promptly communicate clinical concerns
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
- Accurately document patient care and maintain timely records in Epic
- Support safe patient transitions and maintain compliance with hospital and nursing standards
- Float to a nearby affiliated hospital when needed to support patient care operations
