Job Title: MS/Tele RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (17:00 - 05:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years required, first-timers accepted with 1.5 years of experience. License: Must have an in-state license before starting. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred. Experience with thoracentesis, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, weakness, hypertension, small bowel obstruction, altered mental status, renal failure preferred. Description: The position is for an MS/Tele Registered Nurse. The RN will work in a Medical/Surgical Step Down unit. Essential duties include caring for adult and geriatric patients. The daily census is typically around 24 patients. Staffing ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6. The position requires floating within the facility. Shifts consist of 4 twelve-hour shifts per week, guaranteeing 40 hours in one workweek. Candidates will be required to work every other weekend. The RN will provide interdisciplinary support, collaborating with therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses include thoracentesis, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, weakness, hypertension, small bowel obstruction, altered mental status, and renal failure. Experience with charting systems, specifically Cerner, is preferred. The role also includes managing and administering treatments and medications, interpreting dysrhythmias, and ensuring comprehensive patient care in a telemetry setting. Qualified candidates will possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to respond to changing patient conditions. Travelers are expected to adhere to holiday work requirements and must be compliant with break policies prior to their contract.
