Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit. This position involves providing high-quality patient care to surgical patients, including those undergoing colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, and orthopedic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct patient care, including IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
• Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team through SBAR protocols.
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for patient management and medication administration.
• Participate in self-scheduling based on unit needs with guidance from the Nurse Manager.
• Occasionally float to other units as needed.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Scheduled for every other weekend.
• 36 or 48 hours per week available; block scheduling requests will be considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Travel experience is acceptable; first-time travelers are welcome.
• BLS certification is required.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Acceptable candidates may include local applicants with a potential rate difference.

Orientation and Equipment

• 36 hours of unit orientation will be provided.
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue or white scrubs are required.

Patient Population

The primary patient population includes surgical patients, specifically in colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, and orthopedic disciplines.
