Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (Orthopedic Spine) – South Carolina
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Schedule: 13-week contract with 12-hour shifts; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6; every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts per contract); 12-hour orientation provided
Highlights:
- Specialized 26-bed orthopedic spine unit focusing on post-operative care for laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
- Integrated telemetry-capable unit with comprehensive pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support services
- Patient population includes medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, DVT, and PE
- Advanced procedures include bedside lumbar puncture, post-catheterization care (radial/femoral), post-surgical monitoring, renal biopsy care, CT angiography, and heparin drip management
- EPIC charting system with 1 year of EPIC experience required
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
Requirements:
- Active South Carolina or multistate RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent RN experience required
- Orthopedic nursing experience required
- 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Dysrhythmia certification required
- Experience with 5-6 patient ratios preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Must reside 100+ miles from facility (distance requirements apply; compensation adjustments for 90-99.9 miles)
