Registered Nurse - MS/Tele (Acute Care for the Elderly)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the MS/Tele unit will provide high-quality care to elderly patients in an acute care setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering telemetry-capable care and will work closely with a multidisciplinary team focused on preserving both cognitive and physical function in patients aged 65 and older.

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: Night shifts, 3x12-hour format (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Requests for Time Off (RTO): All requests must be included during submission and will be accommodated upon approval by the facility during booking.
• Call-Off Policy: The facility is permitted to call off one shift every two weeks.
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Local Candidates: Accepted based on radius rule criteria.
• Pending License: A current, active SC or multistate license is required.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Required Clinical Skills

• Experience in medical-surgical/telemetry nursing
• IV starts and blood product administration
• Management of central, peripheral, and PICC lines
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Heparin protocols and telemetry-capable care
• Proficiency in geriatric-focused care

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Patient Population: The unit consists of 26 beds and is dedicated to providing specialized care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older. The care team aims to ensure patients return to their pre-admission baseline while minimizing complications.
• Floating Policy: Agency staff may be required to float to other units as necessary, limited to areas where they are qualified and have documented competencies.
