Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele (ACE Unit-Acute Care for the Elderly)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse in the MS/Tele specialty will provide comprehensive care for patients in an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. The ideal candidate will focus on preserving cognitive and physical function in hospitalized patients aged 65 and older, utilizing telemetry-capable care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift Details

  • Shift hours: Day shifts, 3x12-hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30)
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Floating: May be required to float to other units or campuses based on competencies

Charting and Documentation

  • Charting System: 1 year of EPIC experience required
  • Call Off Policy: Facility may cancel 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in South Carolina or a multistate license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of MS/Tele experience

Clinical Skills

  • Proficient in IV starts, blood product administration, and line management (central/peripheral/PICC)
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and conduct remote telemetry monitoring
  • Knowledge of heparin protocols and telemetry-capable care
  • Experience in geriatric-focused care

Unit Details

  • Patient Ratios: 1:5
  • Unit Capacity: 26 beds
  • Population: Hospitalized patients aged 65 and older
  • Focus: Mobility, recovery, and reducing hospital length of stay
