Patients are received from various sources including Emergency Departments and Medical ICUs. A wide range of medical diagnoses is treated, including diabetes, sickle cell crisis, and COPD exacerbations. Other conditions treated include ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, wounds, drains, tubes, and more. The nursing team is committed to delivering safe, competent, and effective care. A supportive learning environment is emphasized for team members. The unit employs interdisciplinary rounding to enhance patient care. Team members participate in discussions regarding patient care plans and quality issues.
