Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients requiring medical-surgical and telemetry services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on the medical/surgical telemetry unit.
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs and ECG rhythms, recognizing any significant changes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and care provided.
  • Float to other designated units and the emergency department as needed to provide care for similar patient populations.

Work Schedule

Shifts will be on a rotating basis, offering both night and day shift opportunities. Specific hours may be subject to change based on operational needs, with an expectation to work every other holiday.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months of permanent nursing experience in the specialty being applied for.
  • Current Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand is required.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS from AHA or the American Red Cross are mandatory.
  • Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation is required.

Additional Information

The selected candidate must be adaptable and willing to float to various units as necessary. A commitment to maintaining a high standard of patient care is essential.
