Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Neuroscience Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required, 1:6 patient ratio
Highlights:
- Specialized neuroscience unit caring primarily for stroke patients, epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries, subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
- 42-bed unit with approximately 50 daily census; includes a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
- 13 to 26-week contract assignments available with 36 hours of structured orientation
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and physical therapy
- Floating may be required to other Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units based on facility needs
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical/Surgical experience (required)
- Previous travel nursing experience required; must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts
- Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact state license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience with neuroscience patient populations strongly preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to assignment start date
- Completion of 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules required (non-billable)
