Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Orthopedic Medical-Surgical – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Float requirement to other medical-surgical units based on census needs. No call required.
Highlights:
- Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with 37 average daily census
- Patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5-6:1, may flex to 7:1 in extreme cases only
- Contract duration up to 20+ weeks through February 27, 2027 to support through the holiday season
- Epic EMR system in use; prior Epic experience strongly preferred
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Orthopedic experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Skills required: IV start, telemetry, pain management, post-surgical care
- Epic charting system experience required
- First-time travelers accepted with Epic experience
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS certification
- Charge nurse experience
- Level I Trauma experience
- Experience with total joint replacement, trauma hips, and peripheral nerve block catheters
