Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, with the potential to float to various units as needed.

Shift Information

  • Rotating shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM and 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Shifts may vary based on the operational needs of the facility.
  • Must be available to work at least every other holiday.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the medical/surgical telemetry unit.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and patients regarding care plans and treatment options.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies.
  • Participate in patient and family education to promote health and recovery.
  • Perform ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation, achieving acceptable scores.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state.
  • A minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in medical/surgical telemetry nursing is required.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
