Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Facility: Baystate Medical Center
Location: Springfield, Massachusetts

Unit Overview

The Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit is a 24-bed unit providing care to patients with a variety of medical and telemetry needs. The patient population includes individuals requiring isolation precautions, patients with COVID-related respiratory conditions, long-term stays, geriatric care, and dementia management.

Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: Approximately 1:5 to 1:6–7.

Shift Details

Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Shift Length: 12 hours
Weekend Requirement: Required
Holiday Requirement: Required

Required Qualifications & Certifications

Active RN license appropriate for practice in Massachusetts.
Current American Red Cross CPR certification.
Cardiac telemetry knowledge and experience.
Long-term care experience is strongly preferred, including inpatient or nursing facility experience.
Strong teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude are essential.
No additional certifications are required.

Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to medical, surgical, and telemetry patients.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes requiring timely
